Screenshots are becoming a major part of our day-to-day life. Whether on a phone or a PC we tend to capture a screenshot now and then, screenshots of a document, screenshot of a mail, screenshot of a video or picture, and many more. 

Capturing a screenshot is an easy task on mobile phones and PC as well, we just need to press the shortcut key F12 at the instance we require a screenshot. In some cases, shortcut keys can differ which you can find going through the web and other sources. 


Steam is an app where one can chat with his friends or a group, share different kinds of stuff, and stream games. It can be installed easily on your systems working on any of the platforms like windows, mac, or Linux. Now comes an issue where you can find the screenshots you captured from Steam?  

It’s pretty easy to find a steam screenshot folder on your PC by using the Steam client itself.  

You just need to follow the given steps to find the screenshot folder through Steam app –  

  • On the menu bar select option View 
  • Select screenshots in view, a dropdown menu will appear. 
  • All your captured screenshots will be here with three different options to view the screenshots. 
  • Select “show on disk” from the options available, you will be directed to the library of your system where screenshots are saved

In case the above procedure does not work, follow the steps below based on the operating system of your PC to find Steam Screenshot Folder.

For Windows 

To locate the steam screenshot folder on your PC operating on any Windows irrespective of the version you just need to go to the directory where steam is being installed on your PC. By default, the directory is - 

C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam


 For Mac –

For Mac users also finding steam screenshot folder is as easy as Windows users as they just need to follow the given path –

Users/[your Mac username]/Library/Application Support/Steam 

For Linux – 

If you are using Linux you need to open the given directory –

~/.local/share/Steam


Once you reach the steam folder based on the operating system you are using you need to follow the given steps to find the steam screenshot folder – 

  1. Once you reach the steam folder select the user data directory. Now you will folders on your screen based on the number of accounts you have made on steam. If you have created only a single account there will be only one folder and more than one folder will be there in case you have multiple accounts.

  2. Select the folder based on the account you think you can find the screenshot in.

  3. Select the folder named “760”, inside this you will find another folder named “remote” on which you have to click.

  4. Now select the folder of the game you want the screenshot from. This turns out to be a tough task if you manually search for the folder. Instead of this search for the games id and title on the web and then search for the folder through this id and title.

  5. Open the desired game folder and in this you will find a folder named “screenshot” in it.

    In this way you can easily find any screenshot you captured through Steam.
